Butch Sjostrom
Owner

Butch first visited Grand Cayman in 1963 and was enchanted by the Caymanian way of life. He returned to his job as an advertising executive for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis and began his search for the perfect sailboat. He found it in Los Angeles and sailed to the Cayman Islands February 1973. The normally 5 to 6 month trip took 18 months. Ask him about Hurricane Bernice off the Mexican Coast or spending New year's with the Kuna Indians of San Blas, Panama.
If you want to know some history of the Island, Butch is the man to talk to. He has many stories about the good old days here in Grand Cayman and a deep appreciation of the wonderful today's that are so prevalent in this Caribbean paradise.

Butch has spent over 15,000 hours under the water. He shares this knowledge and experience with our staff, to ensure that your adventures with us include having the best dives on the Island.

Greg Jacobs
Instructor / Owner

Greg Jacobs is the newest addition to Seasports, becoming a partner with Butch in June 2006.

Greg has been diving in the Cayman Islands since 1981 as a tourist and later as an Instructor. After many excursions throughout the Caribbean - Mexico, Belize, St Martin, Dominica, and Turks and Caicos - he has come back to where it all started.

Greg is from Central Indiana - a hotbed of quarry diving, He'd be happy to share some of his stories with while doing a surface interval after enjoying a crystal clear, 80°F, 100ft dive with you in Grand Cayman! Prior to becoming a partner with Butch, Greg was a consulting actuary/equity partner with MIlliman USA, an international consulting firm for 27 years. If you know what an actuary is, he'd also love to share stories with you about the actuarial world!

Becoming a part of Seasports has been the fulfillment of a dream for Greg and his wife Karen (who you'll likely see out on the dive boat now and then). Come down and enjoy diving with us!

"I have now logged over two hundred dives with Seasports and have enjoyed every minute. The diving is great, as you never know what is just around the corner. I have seen stingrays, spotted eagle rays, turtles, the biggest lobsters, giant rainbow parrotfish, big grouper, tarpon, and barracuda, green moray eels and the odd eight-foot nurse shark! Not to mention the myriad of smaller fish. There is a relaxed atmosphere on board their dive boat with lots of camaraderie between divers especially those who have made friends and return year after year. Butch and Greg make a great team who bring true professionalism to the operation and I have no hesitation in giving them my highest recommendation."
